Forget resolutions; try a new approach

Forget resolutions; try a new approach

Hi folks!

Today’s inspiration comes from my good friend, author, and consultant extraordinaire, Mary Ann “Skipper” Singer. Years ago, well before the rage of hashtags on Twitter, she offered a new twist on New Year’s resolutions. “Rarely do we keep lists of resolutions,” she told a group gathered to discuss her Leadership Tips book. “Instead consider the year and pick a theme, a constant you want to focus on.”

Every year since, I’ve picked a one-word theme to guide me. This year is no exception. To keep me moving in a positive direction, I’m labeling this year, the year of Sparkle. I believe we all sparkle in different places. This year I’m choosing to look for the sparkle, to find mine, and to seek out the sparkle in those whom I know or have yet to meet.

Think how much brighter life would be if we could focus on the “sparkles” all around us—and within us.

How about you? Do you have a theme for this year? I’d love to know.

Happy New Year!

And remember #Sparkle!

My best–always,

Becky  (Nana B)
