Summer Snippets: A Place for Madison; A Pause for Mom

Summer Snippets: A Place for Madison; A Pause for Mom

Well, it happened. It finally happened! Madison was discharged from the inpatient unit and is in her new home! After twelve long months of amazing treatment and therapy, she has a new home, a new day program, and new people in her life who are committed to her success!

This week’s inspiration comes from French poet, Guillaume Apollinaire.

Now and then it’s good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy.

Yes!

So I am pausing. To be happy. To be grateful. To rest in the moment of transition. Even though my mind is whipping ninety miles-an-hour about the next steps for my Madison, I am purposefully taking a breath to let joy seep in.

It’s time to shout, as Madison would say in her very best Barney voice, “Hoo-RAY!”

How about you? Have you paused in a pursuit to just be happy? Tell me about it. I’d love to know.

It’s been quite a journey. Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, encouragement and support through the epic failsclosed doors, and obstacles we’ve faced together. Here are a few more captured moments from her farewell party. She was the queen for the day.

Pausing, but still giving you—

My best – always,

Becky  (Nana B)
