Thoughtful Wednesday? A Special Day for Rethinking Possible

I’m visiting with you a day early because today, and today only, there is a special price for the digital version of my book! For today, 11/15/17Rethinking Possible is 99 cents on Amazon Kindle, Nook, Google Play, and iBooks. If you know folks who love the e-book format, spread the word by forwarding this email or sharing this:

So what inspired me this week? It’s back to the classics:

Let us spend one day as deliberately as Nature, and not be thrown off the track by every nutshell and mosquito’s wing that falls on the rails. Henry David Thoreau

Why this quote?

I’d just completed my morning quiet time and was settling in to tackle my to-do list, far longer than usual because my book will be featured in a two-week “marketing booster” campaign. I was stressing over the details—this e-book pricing program, a new Book Club kit, copy for promotions, Facebook ads, and revisions on a couple of related articles.

How was I going to get it all done?

I took a deep breath, paused for a sip of coffee, and looked out my sunroom window to be greeted by this big guy.

As my Snapchat friends know (yes, I DO snapchat, @chairwriter if you want to join me), I OBSESSED with this fella, snapping pictures and videos for at least a half hour. He just hung out, nibbling here and there. He moved at his own pace, in his own time.

Deliberately. Confidently. Undistracted.

When I finally left my perch to refill my coffee, he lumbered slowly to my neighbor’s yard. I haven’t seen him since. But his presence helped put that to-do list in perspective. I was able to look at it with fresh eyes.

Deliberately, confidently, I began to move through it at my own pace.

How about you? Has time with nature ever helped you regain your perspective? Tell me about it. I’d love to know.

My best – always,

Becky  (Neehah! Note the new name!)

P.S. Here’s a preview of some of the promotions. AND, if you’re in the Baltimore area, mark your calendars for the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (11/28 6:30 pm) and come see me at the Cockeysville Library. It’s free! No registration required and I’d love to see you. Details below. Oh, and I also learned I was an award finalist! So honored—and still pinching myself. Thanks for all your support and encouragement!
