About this conversation

Making room for the life in front of us

Wendy and I talk about the small steps that led me into writing, the daily reading practice behind Morning Fuel, and what acceptance made possible for my family. We also explore how preparing for different outcomes can turn anxious waiting into something practical.

Five ideas to carry with you

  1. Give grief room

We can acknowledge our pain and recognize that people process loss differently.

  2. Choose support thoughtfully

Someone grieving the same loss may need support themselves. Help can come from outside that immediate circle.

  3. Prepare for different outcomes

Practical plans can keep us moving while answers remain uncertain.

  4. Make space for what matters now

Accepting my wheelchair helped me reclaim family dinners and time with my children.

  5. Notice the everyday good

Morning reading and naming simple things I appreciate help me approach the day.
